Conway's Life skinned as phase-contrast microscopy.
Two simple rules — a cell with two or three live neighbours survives; an empty cell with exactly three is born — produce gliders, oscillators, still-lifes, and the long quiet stretches between. Skinned in greens against a near-black field, the same rules feel less like a game and more like something cultured on agar.
The piece runs at one beat per frame. There is nothing to interact with; staring is the interaction.
